Pre-Owned Women's Handbags in Dubai
We sell authenticated pre-owned luxury handbags in Dubai, online and from our boutique inside the InterContinental Hotel, Dubai Marina. The collection focuses on women's designer bags, from Chanel flap bags and Hermès top-handle icons to everyday Louis Vuitton totes. Every used or second-hand piece is checked by our handbag specialists before it goes on sale and is backed by our lifetime authenticity guarantee. Many are priced below what the same bag costs new today.
We're selective about what we buy. We mainly take in bags in pristine condition, and many have never been used or were carried only once. That means you can buy something very close to new, often for less than current retail, and without having to go through a brand boutique to get it.
Browse the collection above, message us to check a specific piece, or come in and see the bags in person.
Pre-Owned Luxury Handbags at Bramleys
Bramleys was founded by Dean Bramley, and we've been buying and selling pre-owned luxury in Dubai for more than eight years. We started with watches. Handbags are now a core part of what we do, and Dean is one of several handbag specialists on our team.
"Anyone can learn where to find a date code. What takes years is knowing how a genuine bag feels in your hands: the weight of the hardware, the way the stitching sits, how the leather has aged. We turn down far more bags than we buy. If we have any doubt about a piece, it doesn't go on our shelves."
The collection brings together used, second-hand and pre-loved designer bags from Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Fendi, as well as Gucci, Prada, Goyard, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga. Every piece is one of a kind, so stock moves quickly. A bag listed this week may be gone the next, and new pieces arrive as we source them.
Why Buy a Pre-Owned Designer Handbag?
Price is usually the starting point. A pristine pre-owned bag often costs noticeably less than the same model new, although the saving depends on the brand, the model and how hard it is to find.
Access matters just as much, especially at the top end. Hermès Birkin and Kelly bags are rarely on display in boutiques. They are usually offered at the discretion of sales staff, often to clients with an established purchase history. Other designs have been discontinued, and the secondary market is now the only place to find them. Buying pre-owned also lets you compare current, older and discontinued designs from several houses side by side, instead of choosing from whatever one boutique has that day.
Some models also hold their value well. Hermès Birkin and Kelly bags often resell above their boutique price, and the Chanel Classic Flap tends to keep much of its value. Even so, we'd always suggest buying a bag because you love it, not as an investment.
Types of Pre-Owned Luxury Handbags
Most of our collection is women's handbags and purses, and the styles below cover the main ways our clients carry them. What's available at any moment depends on current stock.
Everyday Totes and Shoulder Bags
Totes are the practical choice for a laptop, travel essentials or a full day out. The Louis Vuitton Neverfull, Chanel Deauville and Prada Canapa are all popular. Shoulder bags are more compact but still work for everyday use. They range from soft hobo shapes such as the Gucci Jackie to more structured designs like the Saint Laurent Kate.
Top-Handle and Flap Bags
Most of the recognisable icons sit here. The Hermès Kelly and Birkin and the Dior Lady Dior are structured bags carried in the hand or on the forearm, usually with an optional strap. Chanel's Classic Flap and Boy Bag close with a fold-over flap and hang from a chain or leather strap.
Crossbody, Bucket and Belt Bags
If you want your hands free, for travel or a busy day in the city, a crossbody such as the Dior Saddle or Goyard Musette is the obvious pick. Bucket bags like the Louis Vuitton Noé and drawstring designs from Gucci and Chanel are deeper than they look. Belt bags, including Chanel's quilted versions, go one step further.
Clutches, Mini Bags and Evening Pieces
For evenings, or when you only need your phone and a card, look at clutches and pouches like the Goyard Sénat, mini flap bags and wallets on chain. Velvet, embellished and patent designs tend to turn up in this category.
What Determines the Price of a Pre-Owned Luxury Handbag?
Two bags of the same model can differ a great deal in price. The price of a pre-owned handbag depends on several factors working together: brand, model, size, material, colour, hardware, condition, age, rarity, completeness and current demand.
Brand and Model
Brand and model set the starting point. An Hermès Kelly and a Gucci shoulder bag sit in very different brackets before anything else is considered. Size then changes both how a bag is used and what it's worth. A Birkin 25 and a Birkin 35 are the same design but very different bags to carry, and depending on the model, either can be the more sought-after size.
Material
Material affects the look, the price and how well a bag wears. Chanel's caviar leather is grained and hard-wearing, while its lambskin is softer and more luxurious but marks more easily. At Hermès, Togo and Clemence have a pebbled grain that hides light wear, while Epsom is stiffer and holds its shape well. Exotic skins sit at the top of the range. Louis Vuitton's untreated vachetta trim darkens to a honey colour over time. That's natural patina, not damage, but it's worth deciding whether you prefer it pale or aged.
Colour and Hardware
Black, beige and other neutral colours are always in demand, while some seasonal shades become more sought-after once they're no longer made. Hardware finish (gold-tone, silver-tone or palladium) is largely a matter of taste, but its condition says a lot about how a bag has been used.
Condition, Age and Completeness
Finally, there's the individual bag itself. An unworn, recent bag with its box, dust bag, strap and other original items will be priced higher than the same model with visible wear or missing accessories. Discontinued designs, limited editions and bags that are hard to get from the brand carry an extra premium, which rises and falls with what buyers want at the time.
Pre-Owned Handbags at Different Price Points
Pre-owned doesn't always mean inexpensive. The most sought-after Hermès bags can sell above their boutique price because they're so hard to get new. Many other designer bags, from Gucci and Prada to classic Louis Vuitton canvas, offer real savings compared with buying new. That's why our collection runs from small leather goods at around AED 1,000 to exceptional pieces at the top of the market.
Popular Pre-Owned Designer Brands
This page covers our full handbag collection. Where a brand has its own collection page, you'll find a wider selection and more detail there.
Our pre-owned Chanel bags include flap bags, the Boy Bag, Deauville totes and smaller pieces such as belt bags and mini flaps.
Expect anything from the Birkin and Kelly to the Lindy and Evelyne. Hermès pieces tend to sell fastest, so it's worth asking what's just come in.
This covers canvas classics such as the Neverfull and Noé alongside leather designs like the Twist and Capucines.
Look out for the Lady Dior and the Saddle.
Designs such as the Peekaboo and Baguette appear regularly, along with smaller leather goods.
We also stock Gucci, Prada, Goyard, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga as we source them.
Condition and Authentication
Buying a used luxury handbag raises two separate questions: is it genuine, and what state is it in? Authentication answers the first, and condition grading answers the second. We check both before a bag goes on sale.
Authentication: Is It Genuine?
Every bag is inspected against the brand's own manufacturing standards. We check:
No bag reaches the boutique floor without passing this process.
How brands mark their bags has also changed in recent years:
Chanel
From its 21A collection in 2021, Chanel replaced the hologram serial sticker and authenticity card in its handbags with a small engraved metal plate containing a microchip.
Louis Vuitton
In March 2021, Louis Vuitton began replacing stamped date codes with embedded microchips. A recent Louis Vuitton bag with no date code is normal.
Hermès
Hermès uses a blind stamp, a small embossed code showing the year of manufacture alongside a mark identifying the craftsperson or workshop.
None of these markers proves authenticity on its own, because counterfeiters copy codes, stamps and plates too. That's why our specialists look at the whole bag, not just its markings.
Our Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee
Every handbag we sell is covered by our lifetime authenticity guarantee. If a bag bought from Bramleys is ever proven not to be genuine, we'll refund you in full.
Condition: What State Is It In?
Because we mainly buy bags that are pristine, unused or carried only once, most of our collection is in pristine or near-new condition. Where a bag does show signs of use, we grade it using standard resale terms (pristine, excellent, very good or gently used) and describe the wear honestly.
If you're comparing pre-owned bags anywhere, these are the places wear shows first:
It's also worth checking whether the original box, dust bag and accessories are included.
